Exploring Moorea

After spending a few days in Tahiti, we took a ferry over to Moorea. It was amazing!

We stayed in a n overwater bungalow at the wonderful Manava Moorea Resort. Everything was perfect. We ate several meals there that were delicious, but there are also several little local spots within walking distance that had great food too.

The resort has several activities included with your stay so we took advantage of the kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling. It was amazing to step outside our room and be able to jump right into the ocean.

Since we didn’t have a car on this island, we booked an excursion to Tiki Village through the hotel. We watched a few demonstrations, had a delicious dinner, and ended the evening with a Night Show. It reminded me a bit of the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Another day we did a Jeep Safari excursion (through the hotel again). This took us to the Belvedere and Magic Mountain lookouts, an ancient archaeological site, and to a pineapple plantation.

The views were amazing! My favorite was from Magic Mountain lookout. We could see over the entire bay!

The tour was fantastic. Our guide said everything in French and in English and we learned a lot about the island and the Tahitian culture.

My favorite activity that we did was a small snorkeling tour. It took us to a few different spots where we saw sea turtles and other beautiful sea creatures and then ended with a stop where we would swim with stingrays and sharks.

Our time in Moorea was just perfect. We had such a wonderful time and I know I’ll treasure this trip forever!
