Schilter Family Farm Sunflower Experience

We said good-bye to summer last weekend with an outing to the Sunflower Experience at Schilter Family Farm. It was the perfect way to end the season and to welcome in the more fall-like weather we’re starting to experience now (not that I’m complaining- fall is my favorite season here in Washington!).

The Sunflower Experience was gorgeous! We were all thoroughly impressed with how well done it was. We started by taking a hayride from the farm’s entrance over to the sunflower fields, which was definitely a highlight for our kids. After getting dropped off, we walked through a picturesque door into the giant field itself. The first thing my middle child noticed was a swing and she impatiently waited her turn and then helped her little brother to also hop on with her.

All over the field were fun photo props like the swing. My kids had a blast finding everything and then playing with it all. It was almost like a game for them, as we walked through different little paths throughout the field. Our favorites were the vintage trucks, the swing, the tractor, and the playhouse. While our kids enjoyed playing, I enjoyed capturing all of their fun on my camera against the beautiful backdrop of sunflowers.

I also appreciated the food vendor right when we came into the field. We grabbed a few vanilla ice cream cones as a little treat, but they also sold hotdogs for families looking for a quick dinner.

Each ticket comes with a hayride to the field and one u-cut sunflower bloom (additional sunflowers can also be purchased).

We spent about 2 hours at the sunflower field and then took a hayride back to the farm’s entrance. It was a beautiful way to spend our afternoon and just so much fun. Schilter’s offered plenty of variety and we each came home with a different type of sunflower from one another. We love Schilter Family Farm and can’t wait to visit again soon!

Thank you to Schilter Family Farm for gifting our family with tickets to their Sunflower Experience. We hope to visit again next year!
